- In the agricultural portion of the 1865 census, Charles is reported to have 50 acres of improved land (and 10 acres of unimproved) valued at $2,000, as well as $250 worth of stock and $100 worth of tools and implements.
- In the 1871 Census, Charles also had the following family living in his home:

- The connection between the families of Charles & Margaret and Charles & Rachael was made through a letter from Alice (née Billyard) Mills and the Hamilton Asylum [26].
- In his son's obituary (Walter) Charles' name is given as Henry implying that the “H” in his middle name is Henry
- Connection between Charles Billyard, Margaret Ann Cobb, Rachael Wybrow and Robert Bishop: The relationship between these four persons can be best described in time-line form (birth years are given in parentheses for reference, often as two years when it had to be inferred).
The above suggests that Charles and Robert married each other's former spouse and took their children into their respective homes. This assumes that Mary A., Margaret Ann, Ann and Margaret A are all the same person although the birth dates are quite varied. Also note that Carrie, Clara and Cara have the same birth year and place (Canadian, not shown), and the Franks and Henrys all have the same birth dates (to within a year).
