Saphrona's gravestone contains the following information: "Billyard, Sophronia, wife of Francis, Jan 29, 18??, age 61 y, 6 m, 1 d", from which her date of birth can be inferred, although the exact year of death can no longer be read (Ron Carnes had received information from a source in the U.S.A. who said the year was 1873). Therefore given that she was 61 years, 6 months and 1 day old when she died on January 29th (implying, a birth date of July 28th) then the year of death can be inferred from this information coupled to the ages stated in the various census records:
- Saphronia's maiden name was provided by her son's (Buel) death certificate.
