• The connection of Francis to his parents in this database is based on the common birth year and birth country noted in both the christening of Richard and Mary's son Francis and the U.S. census records of Francis Billyard. Early Census information:

• Note that in the 1865 census, Francis and Saphrona had their granddaughter, Effie Parkhurst, living with them (or at least visiting); Effie is the daughter of their daughter Mary. In the agricultural section of the same census, Francis is reported to have owned 7 acres values at $600 and $40 worth of stock.
• The transcribers of Francis' gravesite were not sure what the year of his death was, suggesting 1807, although they give the date as 29 March. However, they also state that his age at death was 61 and given his birth year, 1864 seemed reasonable, until his entry was found in the 1865 census records and up. Furthermore, in his son's medical records (George Billyard) it was stated that he lived for 84 years. This would place his death year around 1888.
