- From the Ancestry World Tree Project: “Buel had a record of considerable service in the Civil War. Upon retirement from farming, he moved into the village of Akron and built a house at 62 Bloomingdale Ave. After his death in 1909, his wife Sarah lived there alone for the next 10 years. At that time her grandson, Nelson Bertrand, came to live with her. He kept the house up and took care of his grandmother until her death. Nelson inherited the house from his grandmother.”
- Buel died of liver cancer.
