Notes “William H Taylor Jones” appears in the 1861 Census of Upper Canada. At first, it was assumed that he was the child of John William and Susan (nee Jones) Taylor, the married couple in whose house he was listed in the census. However, given that his surname was Jones and not Taylor, and given that he was only 14, this suggests that he is Susan's younger brother. A William H Jones can indeed be found as a son in the household of Jessee Jones in 1851 (Susan's father), confirming this. “Taylor” may have been a transcription error by the enumerator in 1861.
