Notes Susan's parents' surname was listed as “Jones” on Susan's marriage registry; this suggests that Jones is her maiden name, but that she was married previously with the surname Taylor. This is confirmed by the fact that the 1863 City Directory for St Catharines lists her as “Taylor, Susan”, and a widow to John W.
