Notes
- Was in service of Dr. William Mee (many times Mayor of Retford and also Magistrate of the Borough)
- In 1841 she was in service in Bridgegate in the household of Dr. William Mee and Dr. William Allison, both respected surgeons in Retford
- After the death of William Mee in December 1872, Ann Billyard moved in with her neice and nephew, Ann and George Wagstaff, at their home in Gravel Mount, Retford.
- Ann's marriage is predicated on the 1861 census listing her as “Widow”. The British GRO lists a marriage for an Ann Billyard in the first quarter of 1850, to either William Lymm (whose death is registered in Nottingham, first quarter of 1861 [vol 7b, p150]) or Graham Saxy (who does not have a death registry between 1850 and 1861). Curiously, Ann's entry in the 1851 census does not list her as married.
