- Thomas was a farmer in Milton (800 yards from West Markham), which is stated in the parish records for the christening of his daughter, Ann (provided by [1]).
- The identification of the Thomas Billyard of West Markham and of Austinburg was the consistent ages, as well as the presence of Graham Saybie and his wife Ann living next door in the 1880 Census (again with consistent ages with the British counterparts).
